We enjoyed Niagara Falls. We were lucky to get a parking
spot quite close and we walked all around admiring the Falls. Not too many
visitors as we got there before lunch.
It is such a pretty area. A
beautiful day!

There is a monument honouring a young man from Ohio who lost his life trying to save the lives of an older couple in 1912 when the ice bridge collapsed.

We then drove to Niagara-on-the-Lake. This is such a scenic area. The town is beautiful with the streets lined with flowers. There was a nice ambiance as we wandered around and enjoyed our lunch at a street outdoor café.

Our original plan was to camp nearby, but we found out that the BC Lions were playing the Toronto Argos at Roger’s Centre. We have never been to the Sky Dome so we thought this would be a good thing to do so we went on to Toronto. We made our way from my sister Marie & Rob’s place to Roger’s Centre and managed to get tickets for the game. We were quite excited and enjoyed the entertainment outside before the game. This band was very good and played energetic music before, at half time and during the game.

This was the best part as we were so disappointed that the Lions did not show up for the game! They were awful! The Sky Dome (Roger’s Centre) was pretty cool with the roof open…..a whole lot better than the open roof at BC Place!!
After the game, we looked at each other and said, “we should have stuck to our plans”.

Toronto was fun.
Marie, Rob & Molly were away on vacation so we enjoyed some long
walks and I ran a couple of times which was great and badly needed. We also did
some sightseeing on our own. The Hockey
Hall of Fame was high priority on Keith’s list.
It is an amazing display! We both tried to score some goals…of course
Keith won that one 3 -1. I was happy to have scored at all!!

I loved seeing the pictures of my hockey heroes back in the 60’s…Dave Keon and the Leafs!

We went up the CN Tower and really enjoyed it. I wanted to do the edge walk….it was $175 so we passed on it….Keith was glad about that! We could see the top of the Skydome from the CN Tower.

Through the glass floor you can see the roof of the Aquarium. Pretty neat!

Toronto City Hall area is also really neat. We enjoyed the architecture of the various buildings.

Marie, Rob & Molly arrived home a couple days later and we had lots of fun with them. Molly is a great kid! They took us to Center Island for a day. Molly took her roller blades and did quite well with them.
There were tree maneuvering competitions that were interesting to watch. There were 5 different sets of trees with various series of maneuvers one had to accomplish and one was judged on time and ease of movements. Competitors came as far away as New Zealand. Picutres did not turn out as the competitors were dressed in green.....a bit difficult to spot them amongst the trees!!
The Island is very pretty with lots to do. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

When we finished
making our way through the tall grass, Molly initiated a race back to the car….but she was going in the
wrong direction! Rob,her dad corrected her and Keith got into the race. As soon as
Molly saw Keith running for the car, she really poured it on and ran her little
heart out. She was thrilled to beat Uncle Keith! They had fun together. Molly is 8 now so time
together with her was really special.
She loved tickling Keith and she has a great sense of humour and catches on
quickly to stories being told almost in code! Great fun!I gave Molly a small English china tea cup that my Aunt Dorothy had given me when I was her flower girl in 1953 when I was 4yrs old. This cup & saucer is now 60 yrs old!! Yikes!!
